lbd plus-size fashion desk to dinner look transform

Let's start this post with a life update...So I've recently quit my full-time job and am distributing my time between blogging and freelance writing projects. So my schedule mostly involves sitting at home and working or heading out for shoots and meetings. Also, on most days I just club a meeting with catching up plans.

Coming to this look, nothing and I mean absolutely nothing can stop me from wearing black. Irrespective of the season, it's my go-to colour. I'm going to take a moment here and rant about how people need to stop telling me to not wear black in summer. I do not feel any hotter than what it already is. So, coming back to the look, I had a couple of meetings lined up last week and then dinner plans for a special occasion. However, there was no time to get back home and change which is when I opted for this easy desk to dinner transformation.

This LBD was picked up from F21 in Mumbai. I love how well-fitted it is and the fabric too is extremely comfortable. I layered the dress with an easy-breezy white shirt for an afternoon of running errands and then a couple of meetings. A bowling bag and comfy golden shoes seemed like the perfect options keeping in mind the walking and also the fact that I carry my entire world inside my bag. As for the accessories I kept it simple with a rose gold watch and a pendant with vintage vibes. My natural wavy hair, some kajal and a nude lipstick (Mehr by MAC) completed my look.

To transform the look and make it dinner appropriate all it took was some basic changes. I switched my white shirt for a light gold basic cover up from Zara while the shoes were replaced by my trusted pair of black and gold heels. (The cover up again did not make me uneasy given the heat as we were in an air-conditioned restaurant throughout and headed home directly) As for the accessories I chose this Pipa Bella neckpiece that I'm beyond obsessed with and a layered chain bracelet. My lip shade for the night was Russian Red by MAC that totally matched the pendant and I simply put my hair up (something I rarely did earlier but have been experimenting with lately).

Dress: Forever 21, Mumbai; White shirt: Fling boutique, Bhandarkar road, Pune; Golden cardigan - Zara; Gold shoes: Pantaloons, Pune; Black strappy heels: Westside Stores; Black bowling bag: Jabong India; Neckpiece: Pipa Bella; Balloons: Potli Theme Packing, Pune

I hope this post was helpful...There was no lugging around of tons of stuff. Just a few simple changes and I was quite pleased with the transformation. Would you guys consider trying something like this? Let's chat in the comments section below.

Here's wishing everyone a fabulous May ahead. Love, M!
