Turquoise Dress + Gold Accessories = Festive Season Ready

19:51:00

I love this time of the year given all the festivities, weddings and celebrations...It is what I like to call the sartorial time of the year. However, as fun as it is to play dress up in ethnic and western wear, things can get quite confusing with that looming "What do I wear?" dilemma.

This year I've been making a conscious effort to play around with things in terms of colour. While my Diwali outfit got a yellow-mellow twist, I decided to pick turquoise when it came to party dressing. Although I am someone who stocks up on way too many little black dresses, certain colours catch my attention when I'm out shopping like this particular one from Style By AND. Besides the colour, what also intrigued me about the dress was the interesting silhouette and fall. The fit of the dress put a big smile on my face...My curves were perfectly embraced and I remember feeling a certain kind of sexiness in that trial room even sans makeup and accessories.

Speaking of the look, I wanted to pair the dress with accessories that would compliment the turquoise and not take away from it. Thus, I chose gold (also in keeping with the festive element). I draped a light gold knit jacket from Westside around my shoulders. Not only did this help keep me warm but it's also a perfect cheat tip for those like me who simply cannot wear sleeveless outfits. A neckpiece from Colaba, some rings, a gold clutch and heels were my accessories. Instead of straightening my hair, I let my messy curls be and as for the lips opted for my all-time favourite liquid lipstick, Haute Latte from Colorbar.

What is your party dressing going to be like this year? Do you guys like experimenting with colours? What do you think about this look? Let's chat in the comments section below.
Lots and lots of love - M!
