New Year Party Ready!

2016 has been one of the most eventful years of my life and with the new year just three days away, all I can say is I'm immensely grateful for all the amazing memories made and for the lessons learnt...

Speaking of this outfit, you guys know just how much I love sequins and shimmer; I can never have enough sequinned outfits in my wardrobe! My best friend got married a month ago and I wanted to get a sequinned ensemble made for her cocktail party. Due to some last-minute changes, I never ended up wearing this outfit for her party and decided to save it for new year's eve instead.

Pune's chocolate queen and one of my closest friends, Nikita Malhotra, and I designed this outfit together. I've never really owned a gown before and so we thought a cocktail party would be the perfect occasion to experiment. Given that I've never had qualms going OTT with sequins and flaunting high slits, we incorporated it all while designing the outfit. Right from drawing out multiple illustrations to buying the fabric, the entire process was extremely exciting. Fortunately, the designer who stitched the outfit made efforts to understand exactly what we wanted and did a fabulous job with the final dress. Although the dress is a tad loose, I LOVE everything about it, especially the length!

I wanted to go minimal with the accessories and let the sequins be the highlight. I paired the dress with simple earrings, sequinned gold wedges and just carried some red roses. The immensely talented makeup artist, Rujuta Kulkarni, gave me a serious glam look with a flawless base, plumped red lips, gold eye-shadow and fake eye-lashes! This look is one of many firsts including wearing a gown for the first time, opting for zero jewellery and going all out with the make-up. Do tell me in the comments section below what you'll think of it.

Here's wishing each and everyone of you a fabulous end to 2016 and an even better start to 2017! 💖

Love -M!
