Celebrating Summer with Bright Desi Accents

I'll forever be a winter loving person...But, there's something about summer that exudes a fresh and infectious charm. And what better way to embrace the season than with some fun vibrant additions to the wardrobe.

I recently took an evening off from work and treated myself to some retail therapy. Having checked out the Global Desi Spring/Summer 2017 collection online, I was quite keen on heading to their store and trying out a couple of picks that I was eyeing. This Bird Print Pink High-Low Kurta (You can buy it here - http://globaldesi.anitadongre.com/bird-print-pink-high-low-kurta-41420.html) was my first choice and fortunately was available in an XXL size. The fit was perfect and I absolutely loved the vibrant colour and simple bird print detailing. So fun yet minimalistic!

If you've been following me for a while, you will know that comfort is one of my pre-requisites and Global Desi truly aces the same. Their comfortably chic outfits offer the best of both worlds, free-spiritedness and our desi culture. Channeling those very vibes, I decided to go the fun traditional way with this kurta. For the first look, instead of pants or churidar, I teamed the kurta with a blue maxi skirt and a pair of juttis along with a bindi (I simply LOVE bindis and am always looking for reasons to sport them). I love how the two colours, blue and pink, strikingly complement each other and the edge that the flare of the skirt adds to this entire look. For the second look, I chose to wear the kurta as a dress and paired it with white sneakers, a white clutch and some basic accessories.

Both the looks, one with a desi feel and the other a more modern approach, although extremely different from each other are still very me and that, according to me, is the beauty of outfit picks like these. I'm perfectly ready to embrace this summer and have my very own Global Desi affair with a boho twist.

I thoroughly enjoy styling one item in my wardrobe in multiple ways to create different looks and really do hope you liked going through this post. Do tell me what you think of it. I'd love to know.

Lots of love - M!
