Serene Green said Pantone 2017

There's a certain positivity and hope that the colour green exudes, connecting us to nature. Declared as the colour of the year 2017,  Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, said “Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the hope we collectively yearn for amid a complex social and political landscape.” We may be halfway through the year already, but its never too late to give this assertively vibrant and fresh colour a go, which is exactly what this post is about.

New Look has been one of my absolute favourite international brands since the first time I stepped into their store in Bordeaux, France some years ago. I walked out laden with bags full of shopping! Their collection of dresses and heels, undoubtedly, boasts of the most affordably trendy picks. And oh the delight of size availability! I remember picking up a dress in a size 24 for my friend back home.

My wardrobe has an entire section dedicated to LBDs; however, I know I've come a long way in terms of style evolution 'cuz I now also have another section full of dresses in various colours. And I mean colours like yellow, orange, red and green! I picked up this green New Look dress with a choker-like neck pattern mainly for the colour. I love how it's such a pleasant hue of green. I paired the dress with a chic black jacket (from Blush boutique in Pune) and black heels (from New Look) for a party-appropriate look. Eventually I will get around to styling the dress differently and maybe even try some colour blocking. However, for an evening out, I would opt for teaming this dress with the basic yet wonderful black, which helps pull the look together while not taking away from the colour.

Greenery has been ruling the ramps and I've seen the colour being incorporated not only in outfits but also accessories and footwear. How I'd love to get my hands on a sling bag and maybe metallic footwear to experiment further with this beautiful colour!

Until the next post, Love - M!
