Donning Raw Silk this Festive Season
06:53:00I've grown up loving and being fascinated by sarees but somehow, have only gotten around to wearing them very occasionally. (Instances I can count on fingertips) The last time I chose to wear one was for my best friend's wedding earlier this year and all I can say is the term 'yards of grace' exists for a reason. There's something so indescribably beautiful about draping and donning this symbolism of elegance. With Ganesh Chaturthi around the corner, I decided to give the kurtas a miss and opt for a saree instead.
I absolutely love chiffon sarees, the printed and plain kinds alike. However, in keeping with the festive spirit, the thought of a raw silk pick lingered on my mind. Experimenting with yet another option, I decided to rent a saree instead of buying one or raiding my mom's closet. It was the perfect excuse to explore the recently launched S3 Curve section on Stage3! ❤ A fashion rental and styling portal, Stage 3 delivers authentic designer-wear to one's doorstep for flaunting at a specific occasion and simply returning the outfit (hassle-free). Browsing through the Curve section, I came across this fuchsia pink saree from Raw Mango and the decision had been made!
A contemporary brand, Raw Mango offers a range of spectacular handloom sarees. Synonymous with simplicity and sophistication, their stunning outfits reflect the boast-worthy craftsmanship of our country. Offering a modern take on tradition, it seemed only ideal to pick something from this extra-ordinary brand keeping the theme of my look in mind...To my surprise, the saree was beyond comfortable, making it equally effortless to get all decked up as well as just lounge around at home...
Paired with my golden sequinned blouse, I kept the accessories very minimal with a pair of Kaleera earrings, a simple kada and of course, my absolute favourite, a bindi. Wanting to add a modern touch to my look, I opted for a stunning pair of gold heels from Metro and voilà !
I really hope you enjoyed reading through yet another one of my experimental encounters with personal style. Do tell me in the comments section below what you think of my saree look...
Until the next post, lots of love - M!
