Happiest Blues this Diwali with Nautanki Jodi

What's life without some nautanki! Anyone who knows me knows my love for a little drama, whether it's in life or my outfits. So, getting acquainted and collaborating with a jodi of two nautankibaaz designers has been an absolute delight. If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook, it's hard to have missed some exceptionally chic and quirky capes and scarves by Nautanki Jodi...Dedicating this post to the Diwali outfit the designer duo created for me in true #NJ element.

Style for me has always been about a little bit of everything. From boho to classic and edgy to feminine, I love how there's so much to have fun with. My love for trends may change from time to time, but one thing that remains constant is my love for experimentation. When I use the word experiment, I do not necessarily mean something absolutely unusual but that effort to step out of my comfort zone and dress differently. This festive season I wanted to take a break from the anarkalis and lehengas and don something slightly unusual in terms of hues and style.

A Pune-based designer label, Nautanki Jodi is the brainchild of two effervescent dramatic souls, Rupali and Mitali. It offers made-to-measure, customized outfits. The duo recently launched their festive collection that's all about the grandeur of raw silk and beauty of embroidery...Armed with the perfect understanding of my personal style, the jodi created this gorgeous Diwali ensemble for me. The colour was love at first sight! The label's tagline is 'Everything but a little hatke'. Perfectly in sync with the same, I adore their hatke twist on colour blocking; it adds such an edge to the outfit. The designers then took things up a notch with the embroidery patch that contrasts beautifully against the blue.

Keeping the styling very simple, I teamed the dress with a pair of juttis, an embroidered clutch, a statement bangle and gold earrings. Ethnic looks, for me, are rarely ever completely without a bindi. As for the makeup, I opted for pink lips and a pop of colour on my eyes with a blue eyeliner. Et voilá! My Diwali #ootd. Comfy, chic & contemporary!

Wishing you guys and your families a very very Happy Diwali! 💖
Until the next post, lots of love - M!
